Project Description

The Graduation & Public School Transition Program is a core initiative of Kansanso Learning Center designed to ensure that no child is left behind in their educational journey. Before the establishment of the Learning Center, many children in the Kansanso community missed out on early education due to poverty, child labour, teenage pregnancy, and other social challenges. As a result, most children entered formal schooling late or dropped out entirely.
Our program provides 100% free early childhood education from Nursery through Basic 2, focusing on strong literacy, numeracy, discipline, confidence, and social skills. At the end of Basic 2, pupils are carefully assessed, prepared, and formally enrolled into nearby government public schools to continue their education from Basic 3 through Basic 9.
Since the commencement of this initiative in 2015, we have successfully graduated and enrolled over 200 children into the public school system, with a 100% transition rate. Many of these students continue to perform well academically and progress to secondary and tertiary education.
Beyond academic preparation, the program works closely with parents, community leaders, and public school authorities to ensure smooth placement, proper documentation, and emotional readiness for each child. Special attention is also given to slow learners through small-class support, helping them build confidence before transitioning.
This project stands as a sustainable solution to breaking cycles of illiteracy and social vulnerability, giving children a strong foundation and a future filled with opportunity.
